Not few performances, few recorded performances. Cameras weren’t a common thing until the mid 60s for people to have or let alone for concerts to record their live shows.
I sent this video of Elvis to my son to show him what Elvis was like in 1956 both my daughter and son grew up with Elvis because there mom and dad loved him we always listened to Elvis every Sunday afternoon after dinner full blast . My daughter wants me to goto GraceLand to full fill my dream we are looking in to it The King forever and always👑👑👑👑👑👑💔💔💔💔💔😢😢😢😢😢💜❤️💘💞💘❤️
Classic Elvis you still can't beat the King!! My Mother was born and raised in a small town called Ripley, Mississippi. Not too far away is another town called Tupelo where Elvis Presley came from. So thanks to my Mom I have Southern Heritage!!!
He always gave his all. Here he is wearing that flashy golden jacket. I was 11 and the adults in my family told me I was not allowed to watch "such things". Only My Aunt Dorothy liked him and we watched him on her small black and white TV. Dorothy had danced for a professional dance company in Seattle in the 40's and early 50's and she totally loved his "wild" dancing. I was very much into the Mouseketeers at this time but thought he was the wildest performer I had ever seen. Later I came to appreciate his musical talent and style very much, especially his Gospel music. I was not really raised a Christian but his music touched me deeply.
Muito lindinho ele e a mãe dele gente aquela carinha simplesinha vendo filho amado começando sua carreira muito fofa ,hoje vcs são a luz ao lado de Deus👐👐👐👐💖💖💖💖💖💖

The Earth stood still for millions of years when Elvis broke out the Earth exploded , Elvis had the biggest impact on culture than anyone back then or ever will be the greatest entertaining there will ever be period, long live the king of music.
Imagine how shocked today's Popmusicstars would be If there was a released DVD or Blue-Ray of Elvis-Live-Concerts from the Fifties.☝️😅 Beyoncé....retired Rihanna....retired Madonna...mental ☝️😂 Justin Bieber...becomes a Preacher 🙏😇 Lady Gaga would LOVE IT! And the new Queen DUA LIPA...would stop singing, after sewing her Recordcompany - because they lied to her that she is good LIVE. 🤣😅☝️💪😎
1:20 to 1:25 is the smoothest thing they had ever seen Had me fooled for a second. Wish we had a real vision of this live. The inventor of breakdancing! i want back 73 years on the past .
NOT a live performance of "jailhouse rock" The audio is an alternate studio take of "jailhouse rock" edited with audience noise... the film footage from that show contains no audio. There are no existing live performances of jailhouse rock from the 1950s
Wow I just love his mother Gladys she was very supportive of her son Elvis Presley she went to every show when he was starting to climb that ladder it's a shame she never got to see him when he took off on that ladder she was a very very simple lady not like these mother's now in day milking their sons or daughter if they on that road
Seen this footage before but never with the actual audio from this show. It's mind boggling & a revelation to hear the live version of Jailhouse Rock. Elvis is the true definition & the embodiment of Rock nobody did it better & no one ever will. If Rock n Roll can be summed up in one person it's Elvis "the pelvis". What's really amazing & phenomenal is unlike the other rockers of the 50's Elvis didn't stick with it after 1958 he hung up his "blue suede shoes" by 1960 he was hanging on by a thread. The "Rebel" Elvis was short lived & 60 years later the early Elvis shows of "56 & "57 are still amazing & timeless. Elvis didn't need to stick with it to show he's forever the King of Rock n Roll. The other artists had to "stick with it" but Elvis could do it all & sing any style.

So sad we have few performances of elvis in the 50s
Not few performances, few recorded performances. Cameras weren’t a common thing until the mid 60s for people to have or let alone for concerts to record their live shows.
Agreed. Very happy to see something like this is out there. I think more stuff will come out as the years go by. Hopefully!
50s were his best years by far
@@JohnWilson-qy8en Yes it was his prime, look at the fans

The girls in the front row crying at the beginning, he made their year for sure. What a thing to witness, Elvis in his prime.
Had me fooled for a second. Wish we had a real vision of this live.
Yeah, I took me about three seconds to realize they just took the studio recording and made it sound noisy with a bunch of screaming girls behind it.
@@AC-pu2eh - An alternate take of the studio version, which makes it sound more authentic. lol
Hello Elvis is the awesome beautiful love there is no one that has the voice or is that handsome i saw him live and i would love him always

One of the very few times my Dad, Hank Garland, was actually on stage with Elvis. Dad was one of Elvis' recording guitarists in Nashville.
Wow! Hank Garland is a LEGEND! That's really cool!

I never understood why people that he was vulgar. Sounds like some man got jealous because he is the hottest man on earth !!!!! lol
I imagine rock 'n' rock was very sexual (it literally means sex I think) and the movements were close to the Afro styles of dance.

Lyrics
The warden threw a party in the county jail
The prison band was there, and they began to wail
The band was jumpin', and the joint began to swing
You should've heard them knocked out jailbirds sing
Let's rock
Everybody, let's rock
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock
Spider Murphy played the tenor saxophone
Little Joe was blowin' on the slide trombone
The drummer boy from Illinois went crash, boom, bang
The whole rhythm section was the Purple Gang
Let's rock
Everybody, let's rock
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock
Number forty-seven said to number three
"You're the cutest jailbird I ever did see"
"I sure would be delighted with your company"
"Come on and do the Jailhouse Rock with me"
Let's rock
Everybody, let's rock
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock
Sad Sack was sittin' on a block of stone
Way over in the corner weepin' all alone
The warden said, "Hey, buddy, don't you be no square
"If you can't find a partner use a wooden chair"
Let's rock
Everybody, let's rock
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock
Shifty Henry said to Bugs
"For Heaven's sake"
"No one's lookin', now's our chance to make a break"
Bugsy turned to Shifty and he said, "Nix nix"
"I wanna stick around awhile and get my kicks"
Let's rock
Everybody, let's rock
Everybody in the whole cell block
Was dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock
Dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock
Dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock
Dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock
Dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock
Dancin' to the Jailhouse Rock
Wow!
